By renting one of our 4×4 vehicles you will have access to so much more than just a paved road, choosing Wheel Fun Adventures gives you access to gravel and back roads taking you further into the wilderness than other vehicles can go. 

Can I go off-roading?

Please be warned that our insurance policy does not cover our vehicles for any roadway not defined as a “highway”. Our vehicles are suitable for off road exploring but this done at your own risk in the event a tow truck is needed.

If travelling on any roadway not deemed a “highway” such as a restricted area or you are stuck in a vehicle accident or in need of assistance, additional charges (ie., towing, vehicle damage, etc) will be the responsibility of the Guest to pay.

What's covered?

Each vehicle comes with mandatory vehicle insurance provided by the booking platform you have chosen to rent with. All booking platforms require rental insurance at an additional fee to the renter. Please check out out listing on Outdoorsy and RVezy for more information. 

Does insurance cost extra?

Each booking platform looks at insurance as a different cost, please continue to the check out page on booking platforms to determine the fee. 

How old do you have to be to rent a vehicle and can the license have restrictions?

Guests must be 25 years or older with a valid driver’s license and a good driver record. Driver’s license must be a fully graduated license without restrictions such as (ie., learners or novice licences “N”). Please reach out to booking platforms for more information. 


How much of a reservation deposit is required?

Each vehicle rental requires a 25% reservation deposit in order to complete your booking.The remaining balance of the vehicle rental must be paid 14 days prior to the Pick-Up date. Failure to pay the remaining balance 14 days prior to Pick-Up date may result in the cancellation of your reservation with no refund provided. All fees can be paid through our booking system with a major credit card such as (Visa, Master Card, American Express).

How much is the security deposit?

A security deposit of $1,500 CAD is required with each booking. This will be refunded to the Guest in the same format it was received. Wheel Fun Adventures will make every effort to return the security deposit back to the Guest upon Drop-Off but has the right to hold the deposit up to 10 days after the vehicle is returned to complete. 

Is there a minimum or maximum rental period?

Yes. The minimum rental period is 3 days and maximum rental period is 29 days. Please contact us if you have any questions about booking longer than 29 days.  

Is there a refund if I need to cancel my booking?

Yes. A 100% refund will be issued if the Guest cancels the booking 30 days or more prior to the Pick-Up date. Cancellations made between 14-29 days prior to the Pick-Up date will result in 50% refund of the total amount paid including the rental deposit and any other amounts paid to Wheel Fun Adventures. There will NOT be a refund issued if a Guest cancels a reservation less than 14 days prior to the Pick-Up date.

Are kilometres unlimited?

Each vehicle is allotted 200KM per day. This means a 3-day rental period will be allotted a total of 600KM for duration of the rental period. 

Additional kilometres will be charged at a rate of $0.50/ additonal KM used will be calculated at the time of Drop-Off.

There will be no refund or credit for kilometres purchased but not used.

Is gas included in the rental price?

No. At the start of each rental period Wheel Fun Adventures will provide guests with a full tank of gas. It is the responsibility of the Guest to fuel the vehicle during the rental period and return the vehicle with a full tank of gas at the time of Drop-Off, each vehicle takes regular unleaded fuel (87). If the vehicle is returned without a full tank of gas a $40 inconvenience fee will be applied on top of the cost to fill the tank of gas. 

Is there a long-term rental discount?
Yes. Any rentals that are between 7-13 days in length will receive a 10% discount, rentals between 14-29 days in length will receive a 20% discount. The discount will be applied automatically on the booking page.


What is included in the rental price?
Each vehicle comes fully equipment with all camping essentials, additional items can be added to make your trip more fun! A full list of all items included in the rental fee is available on our Vehicles pages. 
Can I do a one-way vehicle rental?

This is not favourable with Wheel Fun Adventures, but not completely off the table. Please reach out to us to discuss this option further. Any additional fees associated with the vehicle retrieval will be the responsibility of the Guest this includes but not limited to (i.e., flights, ferries, gas, loss of revenue, etc).

How does Pick-Up work?

Upon completing a reservation Wheel Fun Adventures will reach out to the Guest to choose a Pick-Up time and location. We are located in Cochrane, AB but are willing to pick up guests from a different location for an additional fee. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions regarding pick-up times and locations. 

A full walk-through of how all the equipment works, vehicle inspections and all questions will be answered upon pick-up. Please allow for a minimum of 30 minutes to complete the Pick-Up process. 

How does Drop-Off work?

Drop-Off time and location will be decided upon either prior to Pick-Up or at the time of Pick-Up. Guests shall arrive on time.  During the Drop-Off, a vehicle inspection will be completed.

What if I'm late dropping off?

All vehicles must be returned at the assigned time and location for Drop-Off. If a Guest is late returning the vehicle, late fees will apply. Each additional hour the Guest is late returning the vehicle will be charged at $50/hr, rounded to the nearest hour, with a maximum late fee of $400 in a 24-hr period

Can the rental period be extended?

If you are having so much fun exploring and would like to extend your rental period, please reach out to us as soon as you can with this request. If the vehicle is available to have an extended rental period, the fees will be charged immediately. If the rental period is unable to be extended the vehicle mut be returned at the originally assigned Drop-Off time and location.

Do you allow children?

Yes, children are more than welcome to adventure! It is the Guests responsibility to bring a car seat for their child. The roof top-tent is secure for children and equipped with mesh/screen on all doors and windows. 

Do you allow animals?

Yes, we love a good furry companion! With each rental ONE dog is allowed for an additional fee of $50. As much as we love other animals, its best we keep it to just dogs! If there is excessive dirt and hair from your furry friend an additional pet cleaning fee of $150 will be charged.  

Is there a maximum weight allowance for the tent?

Each vehicle is outfitted with a rugged roof rack ready to hold Guests. Our roof top tents can hold two adults comfortably OR two adults and one child with a total maximum weight of 550 LBS.

Does the tent come with blankets and pillows?

A duvet, sheets and additional blankets are a $5/day charge. 

Is it okay to smoke inside the vehicle?

Smoking, vaping, e-cigarettes, cannabis, etc., is NOT allowed inside of the vehicle or roof-top tent. If the vehicle or roof top tent smells like any form of smoke, including campfire smoke, an additional cleaning fee of $300 will be charged to the Guests credit card on file.


What happens if I need help and I'm out of cell service?

Each vehicle is equipped with a Garmin InReach GPS, this allows for emergency services to be reached when out of service. This is only to be used in emergency situations.

If this device is used for pleasure used there is a $0.75/message, $1.40/access to weather updates, $0.15/send and recevie tracking points.

Is there roadside assistance?

Yes. Each vehicle has a roadside assistance phone number that can be contacted in the case of an emergency.

Is there any safety equipment provided?

With each rental safety is our number one priority. Each vehicle is equipped with a fire extinguisher, first aid kit, tow ropes, vehicle safaty kit, air compressor, and  spare tire. Please reach out if you have any questions about safety equipment.
